Medical Biller & Administration Positions
Individuals who serve as medical billers are responsible for overseeing the billing operations of a healthcare facility. This includes billing to patients, as well as billing to insurance companies for procedures and treatments performed. While medical billing is considered an entry-level position, more and more healthcare practices are choosing to use medical billers who are educated and experience in the field. This is due to the fact many insurance companies are taking legal action against doctors, physicians and other healthcare practitioners who inaccurately bill an insurance company, regardless of whether or not it was a mistake. The more experienced an individual becomes as a medical biller, the greater potential for higher earnings. Most individuals in this position begin at $8-$10 per hour, but with years of experience can reach $30-$40.
