What Does a Pediatrician Do?
Pediatricians are doctors who specialize in caring for children, usually ranging from birth to early adulthood. While they mainly focus on providing treatment for minor illnesses, infections and injuries, they also chart the growth of an individual and ensure that it is on track. Many times they are responsible for noticing developmental problems or delays and referring parents and their child to a specialist who can diagnose it and provide therapy or treatment. In addition, pediatricians specialize in diagnosing diseases and health problems specific to children and young individuals. The average yearly salary of a pediatrician is $130,000 to $165,000.
